Hi, I'm Margaret

I’m a photographer, artist and landscape designer based in Philadelphia, PA.

MILIEU is a photography practice rooted in the exploration of our shared surrounding culture — the connections between people, design, landscapes, and place. Formally trained as a landscape architect, I approach photography as an extension of my spatial and aesthetic principles. My first photography teachers were my dad and my uncle - my earliest memories are of them on family vacations, cameras in hand so they wouldn’t miss a second.

MILIEU’s work is warm, playful and editorial in tone — grounded in storytelling and place-making. Whether capturing the character of a building, the rhythm of a public space, or the quiet detail of a designed environment, I strive to create imagery that feels lived-in, intentional, and emotionally resonant.
